Appletiser was previously owned by UK-based SABMiller, which merged its African bottling operations with Coca-Cola's last year to form Coca-Cola Beverages Africa. A further 4 percent stake was sold to Sipho Excellent Madlala, a manager at the company. The sale fulfills South African competition officials' requirement that a 20 percent stake in Appletiser be sold to black economic empowerment investors....
