German Energy Regulator Statement: Bundesnetzagentur opens competition abuse case against gas network operators

( August 25, 2008, 11:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- ****************************************MLex-e3 Summary: The German Federal Network Agency has opened proceedings against five gas network operators, including RWE Transportnetz Gas, E.ON Gastransport and Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services, with a view to reducing the number of market regions for so-called L-gas, a gas with a lower heating value. The operators had been obliged to reduce the market regions for L-gas from five to two, but, according to the regulator, they withdrew their commitment to reduce the number by 1 October 2008 without any reason, and so a case has now been opened....
