Aviation Training Partners' move on Aviation Training Holdings cleared by Australian regulator

( February 16, 2022, 23:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Aviation Trading Partners, a consortium of investors including Bain Capital and Australian private equity company Arcadia Capital, has seen its play for Aviation Training Holdings move forward today. In an announcement today, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission has said it wouldn't oppose the merger. As part of its public review of the deal, the ACCC had sought views on whether the consortium would have the ability and incentive to foreclose access to flight simulation services by airlines that compete with Virgin Australia. The ACCC found that in some instances AAT would have the ability to restrict or worsen the terms of supply of full flight simulator, or FFS, services to Virgin Australia’s rivals. However, the ACCC found that AAT customers who are Virgin Australia’s closest rivals have the ability to protect themselves through self-supplying FFS services or by acquiring services from other providers.The full statement from the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission follows....
