EU Commission reports on 2020 climate goals

( October 28, 2014, 11:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU's greenhouse gas emissions reached the lowest levels since 1990 in 2013, according to a report published today by the European Commission and European Environment Agency. The study finds Europe is on track to overachieve a goal to cut its carbon output 20 percent by 2020. Today's report also finds that government revenue from the sale of emission permits amounted to 3.6 billion euros ($4.6 billion) in 2013. Governments will use 3 billion euros of that revenue for climate and energy related investments, according to the commission.Full statement follows:...
