Highly automated taxis should have safety person on board, Chinese regulator says

( December 5, 2023, 06:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Vehicles listed as "conditionally automated" and "highly automated" being used as taxis should have a "safety person" on board, while a fully automated vehicle might employ a person who can monitor, remotely, a maximum of three vehicles, according to a set of guidelines for autonomous driving transport safety service issued by the country’s transport regulator. Self-driving vehicles should record their movements and store vehicle operational status information within 90 seconds before car accidents or autonomous driving function failure, the regulator said.
