Wirecard’s financial results delayed over missing EUR1.9 billion

( June 18, 2020, 09:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Wirecard, a German payments firm, has delayed its financial results for the fourth time, after its auditor Ernst & Young was unable to locate "sufficient audit evidence" of cash balances totaling 1.9 billion euros ($2.1 billion) — which amounts to a quarter of its balance sheet. Wirecard’s announcement today follows further trouble for the company, after its Munich headquarters were searched by prosecutors this month over suspected misleading financial statements. The company’s chief executive, Markus Braun, is also facing investigation by Germany's financial regulator over a large purchase of shares in the company last month.Statement follows....
