French website on formal notice that use of Google Analytics violates GDPR

( February 10, 2022, 09:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A French website using Google Analytics has been put on formal notice by the national data protection authority that data transfers to the US through that tool are illegal. The CNIL said the website must comply with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, and if necessary, stop using Google Analytics. Google's "additional measures" to protect data transfers aren't sufficient to exclude the possibility of US intelligence services' access to this data, the CNIL said.
