New tumble dryers in EU must only use heat pumps from 2025, ecodesign rules say

( November 22, 2023, 13:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Tumble dryer makers will only be allowed to sell models that use heat pumps in the EU from July 2025 in order to reduce energy use, the European Commission has said. It today published new ecodesign and labeling rules for dryers. Manufacturers will also have to make certain spare parts available to consumers and repairers in a bid to boost repairability. The commission said it expects the new rules to cumulatively save 1.7 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent by 2040.Press release follows; documents attached....
