Siapra drawn into v​ehicle-battery recycling antitrust probe in Italy

( June 8, 2020, 21:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Italian battery maker Società Italiana Accumulatori Produzione Ricerca Avezzano, known as Siapra, has been drawn into an investigation by Italy's competition authority over suspected breaches of antitrust rules. The watchdog opened a probe last year into companies that recycle vehicle batteries, including Fiamm Energy Technology, Clarios Italia, Eco-bat, Piomboleghe, Piombifera Italiana and Ecological Scrap Industry, as well as the Cobat Ripa, a consortium set up to coordinate the recycling process, over suspicions of collusion.
