Federal Competition Commission: Mexico's antitrust regulator blocks Nestle's proposed acquisition of Pfizer's infant nutrition business

( November 20, 2012, 21:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Mexico's Federal Competition Commission (CFC) announced Tuesday that it has rejected Nestle's proposed $11.9 billion acquisition of Pfizer's infant nutrition business as it would give the companies a high concentration in the baby formula market, allowing the companies to increase prices. CFC explained that the companies' proposed conditions were insufficient to prevent anticompetitive conduct. Nestle and Pfizer have 30 days to appeal the decision or propose new conditions.Statement follows in full....
