Spanish gym fined EUR6,000 for GDPR violation

( June 9, 2020, 06:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A fitness center in Spain has received a 6,000-euro fine for breaking the EU's General Data Protection Regulation. The institution had failed to obtain valid consent from an individual while filming a gym class in 2018. The individual complained to the Spanish privacy watchdog, which investigated the case, originally issuing its decision and fine in late January. Following a review, in a decision published this week, the regulator said it stood by its decision and sanction.
