South Korea restores e-government systems after two-day outage

( November 20, 2023, 03:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The major outage at South Korea's electronic government systems that started on Nov. 17 and lasted almost two days, has been fully restored. The Ministry of Interior and Safety, responsible for managing e-government systems, announced that normal operations, including the Government24 online platform for issuing official certificates and civil documents, resumed yesterday. According to the ministry, the cause of the disruption was a fault in the network equipment connected to the authentication system, which has been replaced and secured. To maintain the stability of services, the ministry is conducting ongoing monitoring and management for service stability and is setting up a specialized task force to overhaul and upgrade the system managing local administration computer services.The ministry's briefing, in Korean, is attached....
