​ACCC and Coles Express resolve petrol price information-sharing proceedings

( December 16, 2015, 06:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Australian Federal Court has ordered that proceedings initiated by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission against Eureka Petroleum Pty Ltd., trading as Coles Express, be discontinued. The proceedings were related to Coles Express’ subscription to a petrol price information-sharing service operated by Informed Sources, which the ACCC said could allow retailers to communicate with each other about their prices and consequently lessen competition in Melbourne's petrol market. Coles Express has advised the ACCC that its subscription to Informed Sources will terminate. However, the ACCC will continue the proceedings against Informed Sources and the other petrol retailers, BP, Caltex, Woolworths, and 7-Eleven.   The regulator's full statement follows:...
