Seven major patent pool programs earned $1.4 billion total in SEP licensing revenues in 2022, report says

( November 14, 2023, 16:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Seven major patent pool programs earned a total of 1.3 billion euros ($1.4 billion) in standard-essential patent licensing revenues in 2022, according to a report by economic consultancy Charles River Associates. The Avanci 4G vehicle licensing pool earned the highest licensing revenues at 488 million euros in 2022 and accounts for up to 36 percent of the total SEP licensing revenue that patent pools in the study's SEP landscape, the report prepared for the Fair Standards Alliance said. The runners-up are Access Advance with 268 million euros in SEP licensing revenue, MPEG LA with 228 million euros and Via Licensing with 201 million euros in 2022. The report was commissioned "to support policy makers in creating a policy environment that facilitates and encourages investment and innovation in Germany," it said.See document below....
