New Zealand telecommunications company One NZ seeks clearance to acquire Dense Air NZ

( November 3, 2023, 02:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: New Zealand’s largest telecommunications company One NZ is seeking clearance to acquire Dense Air New Zealand from Dense Air Limited and SoftBank Corp, the country’s competition watchdog has said. In a statement today, the New Zealand Commerce Commission said that One New Zealand Group is seeking clearance to acquire 100 percent of the shares in Dense Air New Zealand from UK-based Dense Air Limited and Japan-based SoftBank Corp. The statement added that Dense Air owns the management rights to two bands of 35MHz spectrum in the 2600MHz radio spectrum band but does not use them. Meanwhile, spectrum in this band is currently used by One NZ to provide 4G mobile and 4G fixed wireless access broadband services. It added that the type and amount of spectrum held by mobile network operators impacts the way in which they deploy their networks.
