Pareto Phone tele-fundraising data breach sparks probe by Australia's privacy watchdog

In a statement to MLex, the Office of the Australian Information Commission confirmed that an investigation into the breach had been launched in October and said it had notified Pareto’s parent company, Merchant Place Investments. Among the charities affected by the breach are Amnesty International, the Australian Conservation Foundation and the Heart Foundation.
