US Federal Aviation Administration downgrades Thailand’s aviation sector

( December 2, 2015, 05:55 GMT | Insight) -- The US Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA, has downgraded Thailand’s aviation sector from Category 1 to Category 2, which could lead to service restrictions and even worldwide bans on Thai-registered airlines, the Bangkok Post reports. Under this status, Thai carriers cannot launch new services to the US but can continue to operate existing routes.
