Malaysia to get $107 million from Riza Aziz as part of 1MDB settlement

( May 14, 2020, 13:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Malaysia will receive around $107.3 million as part of an agreement between prosecutors and Riza Aziz, stepson of former prime minister Najib Razak, the country's anti-corruption agency said. A Malaysian court today approved prosecutors' request to grant a discharge not amounting to an acquittal for Riza, who had been charged with five counts of money laundering relating to $248 million allegedly stolen from the country’s scandal-hit sovereign wealth fund, 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
