CADE gives green light to EDF’s plans to replace Alupar in energy consortium

( September 24, 2014, 09:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Brazil’s antitrust authority CADE has cleared plans by French power company EDF to replace Alupar in the construction of the Sinop hydroelectric power plant. Alupar won the concession for Sinop jointly with two subisidaries of Eletrobras in an auction on Aug. 29.  EDF will now hold 51 percent of the consortium and Eletrobras’ subsidiaries Eletronorte and Chesfwill will hold 24.5 percent of shares each.  The power plant will be built on the Teles Pires River in Matto Grosso state. EDF trades its shares on the Paris stock exchange....
