Solvay, Cytec expect to close their deal in December

( November 24, 2015, 23:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chemical companies Cytec Industries and Solvay said they expect the closing of their $5.5 billion merger to occur in December, according to a Cytec filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission Tuesday. The companies have received approval from antitrust authorities in the United States, Israel, Mexico, South Korea, Turkey and Ukraine, and are waiting for clearance in the European Union, Brazil and Japan. This month, the companies made a remedy proposal to ease regulatory concerns to the European Commission, which has an initial deadline of Dec. 2 to approve the deal or open an in-depth investigation.Extract....
