Google and Chrome ‘Incognito’ plaintiffs prepare for landmark US privacy trial set for early 2024

By Mike Swift ( October 13, 2023, 21:20 GMT | Insight) -- Google and class-action plaintiffs suing over the company’s collection of personal data through its “Incognito” private browsing mode in Chrome are on their final approach toward a high-stakes jury trial likely to begin in early February that could force changes to Google’s collection of data to target ads. US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers today told Google and a plaintiff team headed by David Boies that she will run "a tight ship" during the trial and block both sides from putting on witnesses that don’t hew to “core facts” the jury needs to know.
