Brugg Kabel takes appeal against cables cartel fine to EU's top court

( November 5, 2018, 10:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- Swiss power cable manufacturer Brugg Kabel AG is taking its appeal against an EU cartel fine to the EU’s top court, after the EU’s lower-tier court rejected an initial appeal in July. The company is seeking the annulment of the commission’s 2014 decision on three broad grounds: the language the commission used to communicate with the company; the alleged restriction of access to replies sent to the commission by other undertakings targeted by the decision; and the allegedly low standard of proof and distortion of evidence used to establish when the company started participating in the cartel and to calculate its fine.The summary of the appeal follows, as published in the EU's Official Journal....
