State AGs ask to participate in appeal hearing in Google's dispute with Mississippi's Hood

By Amy Miller ( November 11, 2015, 22:31 GMT | Insight) -- Forty state attorneys general are asking as a group to participate in oral arguments before a US appeals court in a dispute between Google and Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood over his investigation into Google's search and business practices. State AGs have a “powerful interest” in arguing before the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit as Hood appeals a district court injunction blocking his subpoena because the case “directly implicates” their authority to investigate possible violations of state law, they said. Forty state attorneys general have asked as a group to participate in oral arguments before a US appeals court in a dispute between Google and Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood....
