Multiple privacy claims survive Oracle America's motion to dismiss US data broker litigation

( October 3, 2023, 22:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Oracle America has failed in its bid to have a federal judge dismiss multiple claims that the software company's data broker business illegally operates a “dragnet-style collection” of consumer data without consent. US District Judge Richard Seeborg in San Francisco denied Oracle's motion to dismiss allegations of intrusion upon seclusion under California law on behalf of the California SubClass, invasion of privacy, alleged violations of the California Invasion of Privacy Act, the Florida Security of Communications Act, unjust enrichment, declaratory judgment, and injunctive relief. Seeborg granted Oracle's motion to dismiss Electronic Communications Privacy Act claims, but gave the plaintiffs leave to amend their claims within 20 days.See document below....
