Chr Hansen-Novozymes deal receives antitrust clearance in Brazil

The Administrative Council for Economic Defense, or CADE, considered the global market for food and beverage enzymes as the relevant market, but concluded that there are low barriers to entry and sufficient competition. The agency didn’t find that the vertical relationships created with the merged entity would lead to incentives to discriminate against rival enzyme makers and distributors.
