Chiquita seeks shareholder support for Fyffes buyout

( August 27, 2014, 15:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chiquita said Wednesday its board is recommending that shareholders vote for the company's proposed acquisition of Fyffes, and that the Cutrale Group and the Safra Group's $13-per-share offer is inadequate.  The firms expect the combined company to achieve an additional $20 million in annual cost savings by 2016, Chiquita's president Edward F.
