Real estate brokers, auto service shops in China's Shanghai receive personal-data protection checks

( September 28, 2023, 10:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Real estate brokers, Lianjia property, Centaline property and Pacific Ocean House and auto sales service shops operated by Roewe, Cadillac and BYD received on-site personal-data protection checks from Internet and market regulators in Shanghai. Previous testing found the real estate brokers had issues in collecting personal data and the auto stores disturbed users with personal-information collection requests. The on-site checks did not find issues related to storage and use of consumers’ personal data, the Internet regulator said. The auto stores and property companies said they would correct issues raised in the checks. The statement follows....
