KFTC probing Samsung for alleged formation of new cross-shareholding structure

( November 6, 2015, 10:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Korea Fair Trade Commission is investigating Samsung on suspicions of forming a new cross-shareholding structure after a merger between Samsung C&T and Cheil Industries. Under amendments in July 2014 to the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act, conglomerates cannot create new circular shareholding structures within the company. If the competition agency determines Samsung has done that, it could decide to give the company a grace period of six months to correct the violation.The regulator's statement, in Korean, is attached....
