Pharol challenges revised fine for non-compete deal at EU court

( September 28, 2023, 09:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Portuguese telecom operator Pharol is at the EU General Court today, to contest the European Commission's antitrust fine for the company's non-compete agreement with Telefónica. The contested penalty on both operators totals around 79 million euros, a slight reduction on the original. Pharol's arguments include that the commission should have adopted a new Statement of Objections, as the revised decision introduced a fresh interpretation of the non-compete clause.
