Meta's Facebook plans to ban targeted ads based on race, religion, politics

( November 10, 2021, 06:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta, Facebook’s parent company, said it will no longer allow advertisers to buy targeted ads for users based on sensitive information such as race, political affiliation, sexual orientation, religion or health. Meta said the changes, which will go into effect on Jan. 19, 2022, mean that it will remove options to target people based on references they may make to political beliefs, social issues, health causes or organizations.
