GlobalWafers-Siltronic deal completes Japan waiting period, company says

( November 4, 2021, 08:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Statement: Taiwanese silicon-wafer maker GlobalWafers announced that its proposed purchase of Germany’s Siltronic has “completed the relevant waiting period” under Japan’s antitrust law. GlobalWafers said in a statement issued Nov. 4 that clearing the waiting period “legally enables the parties to close the deal under the Japanese Anti-Monopoly Act.” The Japan Fair Trade Commission announced on June 15 that it opened a Phase-2 review of the deal and has yet to announce its clearance.
