Aetna enters agreement to sell entire standalone Medicare Part D business to WellCare

( September 27, 2018, 17:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Aetna on Wednesday entered an agreement with a WellCare Health Plans subsidiary to divest its entire standalone Medicare Part D prescription drug plan business, CVS said in a securities filing Thursday. The close of the divestiture is conditioned on the closing of CVS Health's proposed transaction with Aetna and subject to regulatory approvals. CVS said it believes the divestiture "is a significant step toward completing the [US Department of Justice's] review of the CVS Health Transaction. CVS Health and Aetna continue to engage in productive discussions with the DOJ." CVS said it continues to expect the deal to close in the "early part of the fourth quarter."Excerpt....
