Prenatal, Fijace takeover of Maxi Toys stores referred to France by EU

( October 28, 2021, 11:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The French competition authority has said the European Commission has referred to it the planned acquisition of control of Maxi Toys stores by Prenatal Retail Group and Fijace. Prenatal and Fijace are active in the retail sale of toys through the King Jouet brand, which they jointly control. The commission considered that the French agency was best placed to review the deal, especially in light of its impact on the domestic market and the national office's experience in the sector. Prenatal and Fijace will now have to notify the deal to the French agency. In August, it cleared Fijace's acquisition of control of Maxi Toys group assets, on condition that it divests three particular shops.
