( August 17, 2023, 01:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: E-Commerce Enablers, which runs an online platform offering cashbacks called Shopback, has been fined S$74,400 ($54,000) in Singapore for a data breach in September 2020 that exposed the personal information of more than 1.4 million users, including credit card information for more than 370,000 users. Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission rejected the company's defense that blamed the incident on a one-off case of human error and maintained that organizations should have processes to verify that necessary security steps have been properly done.
