( August 14, 2023, 06:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australian mining company Oz Minerals has agreed to confiscation orders valued at AU$9.36 million ($6.05 million) in a foreign-bribery case, the Australian Federal Police said. In a statement, the police said that employees of Oxiana (Cambodia) Limited, a foreign subsidiary of Oxiana Limited that later became a part of the Oz Minerals group, bribed foreign officials to obtain mining rights in Cambodia between November 2006 and October 2009. Since the company cooperated with the police, no criminal proceedings were initiated in the matter "on public interest grounds." However, a settlement was reached between the company and the police in which benefits that may have been derived from the conduct that led to the acquisition of the mining rights, "owned by the controlled subsidiary which has since been sold," should be confiscated. The AU$9.36 million includes a penalty of AU$3.65 million ($2.36 million). The full statement by the Australian Federal Police follows:...
