Hong Kong Communications Authority closes antitrust case against TVB

( September 29, 2015, 10:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- Hong Kong's Communications Authority said today it has decided to close a complaint case lodged by Hong Kong Television Network, or HKTVN, against Television Broadcasts, or TVB, for alleged anti-competitive behavior. HKTVN accused TVB of abusing trademark law and procedures as part of a concerted campaign to prevent the company from obtaining a domestic free television program service license, and to foreclose or delay its entry into the television program service market in Hong Kong, the regulator said in a statement on its website. Based on findings at the preliminary enquiry stage, the authority concluded the there was no case for TVB to answer and that the matter of the complaint had no substantial effect on competition. There was, therefore, no justification for proceeding to a full Investigation, the statement said.The statement follows and the decision is attached....
