GlobalConnect, Nianet merger gains conditional approval in Denmark

( May 30, 2018, 12:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: GlobalConnect and Nianet have received conditional antitrust clearance from Denmark's competition watchdog for their plans to merge, after the agency found that the deal would give rise to higher prices of colocation services in the Aarhus area. The transaction would merge the largest providers of colocation services in the area, the watchdog said. Under the remedies offered, GlobalConnect needs to divest both of Nianet's data centers, located in Skanderborg and Aarhus. GlobalConnect and Nianet offer wholesale and retail supply of broadband connections via fibre-optic infrastructure and operate data centers from where colocation services and affiliated services are offered to corporate customers....
