Google case may be 'only the beginning' of further antitrust crackdown in online and tech, says EU's Almunia

( June 30, 2014, 13:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission's current antitrust investigation into Google's search practices is "probably drawing to an end," said EU competition commissioner Joaquin Almunia today. But he added "I suspect this case is only the beginning of further antitrust enforcement in the digital economy." The EU regulator is also looking into Google's practices in relation to its Android platform, and has also received complaints about the search engine's AdWords service, the use of images from third-party websites and Googe's pressure to extract better terms for its YouTube streaming service....
