Telefónica announced binding offer for Canal Plus Spain
( May 6, 2014, 15:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Telefónica has made an offer to buy the 56 percent stake in Spanish satellite broadcasting company DTS Distribuidora de Televisión Digital (Canal Plus Spain) owned by Promotora de Informaciones, otherwise known as Prisa. Telefónica, which already owns 22 percent of DTS, said it would pay 725 million euros for Prisa's stake in DTS. The remaining 22 percent in DTS is owned by Mediaset España Comunicación, a listed subsidiary of Italian Media company Mediaset. Prisa also owns a small stake in Mediaset España.
