Indonesia to appeal WTO ruling in beef non-tariff barriers case

( December 27, 2016, 07:08 GMT | Insight) -- Indonesia's government has confirmed that it will file an appeal against a World Trade Organization ruling in favor of New Zealand and the US in a case involving agricultural non-tariff barriers in the beef and chicken trade, Katadata reports. Trade minister Enggartiasto Lukita said the government would definitely file an appeal, even though it still needed some time to study all points in the decision. He said the case had arisen following a tightening of imports under the administration of the previous president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Some policies were no longer valid because of deregulation undertaken by the government of President Joko Widodo, he added....
