SPC to face re-investigation after alleged destruction of evidence

( December 26, 2016, 09:05 GMT | Insight) -- SPC Group, South Korea's largest food and bakery company, may undergo a re-investigation by the Korea Fair Trade Commission amid speculation that it destroyed evidence prior to a probe in 2012, YTN reports. At that time, the company was being examined for violating the Fair Franchise Practices Act and faced fines of 570 million won ($474,480) in 2013. But it was found that the company had been aware of when officials from the antitrust agency would visit for an on-site investigation and destroyed related evidence before they arrived. Legal grounds for punishing the company for allegedly destroying evidence will last until March. If the allegations are found to be true, the company will be re-investigated. ...
