SAIC’s Inner Mongolia bureau suspends antitrust probe into China Mobile

( September 17, 2015, 08:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Inner Mongolia bureau of China’s State Administration for Industry and Commerce decided to suspend its investigation into China Mobile over allegations of abuse of dominance after the company admitted the violation and made commitments to correct its illegal behavior. According to an SAIC statement, an investigation launched in April 2014 found China Mobile abused its market dominance by erasing the unused data at the end of each month in consumers’ monthly subscription package. The regulator said the company actively cooperated with the investigation and came up with a plan that could eliminate the anticompetitive impact of its behavior. The bureau will review the company’s fulfilment of its commitments before May 30 next year and will resume investigation if there is any violation of the Antimonopoly Law.The statement follows:...
