KYB agrees to plead guilty, pay $62 million criminal fine for fixing shock absorber prices

( September 16, 2015, 18:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: KYB Corporation has agreed to plead guilty and pay a $62 million fine for fixing the prices of shock absorbers installed in cars and motorcycles, the US Department of Justice announced. According to the charges, KYB conspired from the mid-1990s until 2012 to fix the prices of shock absorbers sold to Fuji Heavy Industries (manufacturer of Subaru vehicles), Honda, Kawasaki, Nissan, Suzuki and Toyota. Including KYB, 37 companies and 55 executives have been charged in the antitrust division’s ongoing investigation and have agreed to pay a total of more than $2.6 billion in criminal fines, the DOJ said.Release follows below:...
