US Court of Appeals: Third Circuit - USA v. Dentsply International [opinion]

( February 24, 2005, 17:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has issued an order reversing the district court's finding that Dentsply International's conduct did not violate antitrust laws. The appeals court ruled that Dentsply's exclusive-dealing arrangements deprived competitors of access to independent distributors and allowed the company to illegally maintain its monopoly over artificial teeth. The court noted that the "rules of engagement" as described by two former Dentsply managerial employees was to prevent competitors from getting access to dealers.See opinion below....
