Marriott to pay $504,000 settlement for failure to obtain FCC approval in Starwood deal

( August 28, 2018, 20:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Marriott International has agreed to pay $504,000 and implement a compliance plan to resolve an investigation into whether the company failed to obtain Federal Communications Commission approval before transferring licenses as part of its deal with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, according to an FCC order released Tuesday. Marriott admits it did not get approval and, according to the consent decree, voluntarily disclosed the problem to the FCC in February 2017. According to the decree, Marriott said the radio facilities it transferred were "intended to facilitate safety and communications in the conduct of its hotel and lodging business operations."See document below....
