Subramaniam said alt...The Malaysian Health Ministry has announced it will require all water vending machines, a popular source of drinking water in residential high-rise buildings, to be licensed by January 1 next year, The Star reported. Health Minister S. Subramaniam said although vended water was added to the list of regulated food substances in 2012, the government has yet to enforce the license requirement. After the deadline, operators caught with unlicensed machines could be fined up to 5,000 ringgit ($1,175) or jailed for two years. The announcement follows results of recent tests that found some vending machines dispensed contaminated water, in breach of food safety regulations....
