The Seoul Eastern District Court ruled today that Lee Jeong-hun and his company should pay a penalty of 30 million won ($25,465) each, in a decision that held the chief and his company accountable for failing to prevent the data breaches that affected more than 31,000 users and resulted in some 7 billion won ($6 million) worth of cryptocurrency being stolen from hacked users' accounts.The head of Bithumb Korea, South Korea's leading cryptocurrency exchange, has been found guilty by a Seoul court of negligence that led to massive data breaches in 2017....
