Microsoft's play for Activision Blizzard cleared by New Zealand competition regulator

In a statement announcing its decision today, the New Zealand Commerce Commission said that it had granted clearance for Microsoft Corporation to acquire 100 percent of the common stock of Activision Blizzard. The global deal, valued at $68.7 billion, had been under review in New Zealand since June 2022, with the country’s antitrust regulator last month extending its review of the deal for the eighth time.
