Easing of cyber-data security management rules considered for China's personal-data handlers

By MLex Staff ( June 2, 2023, 04:50 GMT | Insight) -- Personal-data handlers in China will be relieved to see an easing of the obligations being proposed in draft rules on the security management of cyber data. Instead of fulfilling all the obligations proposed for important-data handlers, the latest proposed change to the controversial article 26 will only require personal-data handlers who process personal information of more than one million people to conduct a data-security risk assessment each year and submit the assessment report to the local cyberspace regulator.
