( November 3, 2026, 21:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: McDonald's may be using algorithmic pricing tools to facilitate collusion between franchisees and squeeze customers with higher prices, US Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Becca Balint said in a letter to McDonald's Chief Executive Chris Kempczinski with more than a dozen questions about the company's pricing tools. “While McDonald’s asserts that using data and analytics to inform pricing is a standard business practice, pressuring competing franchisees to use a shared AI pricing tool built on nonpublic data is not a standard business practice, but rather a potential antitrust issue,” the letter said.Statement follows below.
